I quote, ”Music is the language of the world”.

I love music. Music is another way of expressing our feelings and who we are! Today I will tell you about my love for music and A musical instrument that I play.

I started learning to play piano when I was in grade one. These lessons were in a group setting of one hour a week. The piano teacher would split the class into two groups. One group will be playing the piano, while the other group will be writing in their notes books. We would switch every five minutes.

Unfortunately, I moved to another school and I could not continue with this teacher. I then had to start private piano lessons, once a week for half an hour. My new teacher gave me some books that I had to practice during my lessons and at home. My teacher recommends that I practice three times a day. I would practice in the morning, afternoon and evening. I would start with the hardest piece first, and continue with the easiest piece.

I like playing piano as it makes me feel relaxed. When I am playing piano, I feel like I am in a different world, thinking of all happy things, and make me closer to God my creator. After playing piano for some time, I realized that I had inner passion for music and singing.

After realizing that I had singing passion, I joined my school choir, and Church Children’s choir. With my school choir, I got to sing in three concerts, two of them were for musical completion where we became second place. We once sang with the famous guitarist Liona Boyd at Angus Glen Golf Club. With my church children’s choir, we practice every Sunday afternoon and sing in the 4 O’clock mass twice a month. Guess what, my choir conductor is my piano teacher now.

In my parents’ house, there is always music of some kind, but I am the only one who sings. I sing everywhere. I sing in my bedroom, I sing in the bathroom. I sing in my head quietly, and I sing while walking, siting, standing and even when I bike. Singing to me is another way to express myself. Sometimes I sing sad songs, and most of the times I sing these songs when I am sad. I also sing happy songs when I am happy. Singing makes me hear my voice, which sometimes one needs to hear too.

As said before, “Music is the language of the world”. It could be from the piano, violin, guitar, flute, drums or also your own voice. Clapping and tapping is music too. By the end of the day, it relaxes me, and so can it relax you.
