Praying is a great source of empowerment to help us in our life and to have a better relationship with God. Praying is a way of communicating with God by asking the desires of our hearts or thanking God.
The bible says ”Pray continually”. Obviously, you do not have to pray non-stop, but pray most of the time every day. Every time when we wake up, every time before we sleep and when we need help, we have to ask God for help. Don’t only pray for yourself but pray for your family, friends, and people in need. Something that is also important is that prayers go hand in hand with hard working. If for example I’m preparing for my test I need to study hard and pray for God to be successful on the test. I can’t just pray and not study at all, and expect the wonders! I need to study hard too.
An important thing you need to have in prayers is faith. Faith is to be sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. An example is that I have faith in God even though I do not see him. If you have faith in prayer, you trust in God that what you are praying for will be fulfilled. Sometimes we have to be patient for our prayers to be answered. We just have to put our trust in the word of God and his promises, and keep holding on.
Sometimes when we pray we feel like our prayers are not answered. I too have had that moment and I have found out why. Unanswered prayers can be caused by several reasons e.g. You do not believe God can answer your prayers, You ask for the wrong motives, Unconfessed sins, You have set up idols in your heart that come between you and God; and You don’t answer those who cry out to you for help.
Therefore, when you pray do not ask amiss because you intend to use it for your own pleasures.
