On Sunday, March 8th 2015 I had the most amazing night of my life. My mom, sister, and I went to an Ariana Grande concert!!! Ariana Grande is a very successful celebrity. She always loved singing and when I first heard her voice on a show called Victorious, I knew she was going to have fans one day.
The concert was scheduled for 7:30pm. We left the house with things prepared. My sister and I made a wonderful poster for her. I was bundled up because although it was above zero (FINALLY!) I knew it would be colder after the concert. I also brought an IPod to take pictures. I was very prepared. We ate late and the bus was leaving very soon. We rushed out the house and drove to the bus station. What bad luck we had, we missed it by a second. It was just leaving the parking lot when we arrived. But do not worry, We rushed to it and caught it at the next bus. The trip to Toronto was about an hour. We finally arrived at the Air Canada Center (ACC), the venue for the concert. We took our poster, and lined up at the entrance. I was very disappointed when I found out that posters were not allowed. We had to go inside to drop off the poster. We had to get it back at the end of the show. When we finally got inside, I was so surprised to see that the place was so crowded. I like to think of myself as her biggest fan, but I saw a large crowd at ACC and they all seemed like a huge Ariana’s fan too.
We got popcorn and a drink. It took a while to find our seats but we found it eventually. We were sitting in the balcony which may seem like very far away, but it was an amazing view. At 7:30 the scheduled time, the stage was still empty. In fact it started at eight-thirty. The opening act was a band from Manchester called Rixton. They were very good. But they sang a lot of songs. I was eager for Ariana to come on stage.
The star finally arrived at 9.00pm. The crowd went wild!!! She sang all of her hit songs (from new album) and songs from her old album. The singing was magnificent, the dancing was cool, and it looked amazing. She changed outfits and there were visual effects such as the lights, some clouds and rain on the screen. I was standing the whole time and singing and dancing along. I knew the words to most songs. I was so happy. A lot of people were dressed like her, wearing her hairstyle, or wearing cat ears because Ariana Grande loves to wear those. Overall, the concert was absolutely fantastic.
After the concert we needed to get our poster back. First, we went in the line for Ariana Grande merchandise. I got myself a t-shirt. It has a picture of her on the front and a list of everywhere she is going to tour d on the back. She`s going to 40 places (even Europe)!! We got our poster back; made sure we had everything and went on the bus. I slept on the way back. It was almost twelve am. We got back tired and went to bed at 12:30am. The next day we woke up an hour later than usual because we were so tired. I went to school wearing my T-shirt and ready to tell my friends what I witnessed. To my pleasant surprise, there were a lot of students from our school who also went to the Ariana Grande concert. In fact, one person was wearing the same shirt as me. Another person in my class got to meet Ariana Grande! We all agreed it was a great concert. I hope you enjoyed this article and I hope I introduced you to a new artist that will grab your attention.
