Elijah, Elijah
At 4:00am, you left your house maybe to play
At 4:02am you left the building, with a t-shirt, pull-up, and boots they say
It was -19 C but with the wind chill felt like -28 C. Burr it was cold.
Elijah, Elijah
Your grandma tucked you in at 9:30 pm;
Maybe you weren’t tired I thought in my head
They say you were playful, you would run to the park
Maybe you wanted to play and couldn’t wait till morning.
Elijah, Elijah
You are a smart boy, so they say
Maybe you wanted to go to the daycare, but couldn’t wait till morning
I remember how much I loved daycare, all my friends, I got to play with
One thing for sure, we can both agree that daycare is fun.
Elijah, Elijah
Now you can play all the time in heaven
No more cold or heat alerts be stop you from playing
No more dressing on layers as just a pull up and T-shirt can do
Toronto and the whole world will keep you in their prayers everyday
Thank you for letting me think of you, and to be thankful for life.
Elijah, Elijah
I am sure so many guardian angles came and played with you
I am sure you played with them until it was time for them to take you
I am sure you played and played until your final breath
Swing on the swing slide on the slide
Now lay your sweet head and rest until we all meet again
Tomorrow will be one other day
Elijah Marsh
Rest in Peace.
Angela-Acaye.
