Sitting at gate A6 of Terminal 3 of Pearson International Airport, about 20 people’s faces were sad due to the delay of our flight to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I knew I have to submit an article every Monday, so I thought, “why not I write it now so that when I am in the USA, I can have fun”.
Today, I would like to talk about the importance putting First Things First. What is putting “First Things First”? In the book “The 7 habits of highly effective teens” (my parents’ favourite book of morals and habits), it says, it is to learn to prioritise and manage our time so that our first or important things are done first and not last.
In a week or so, school will start and there are many things we will have to do like, homework, extra curriculum activities such as basketball, piano lessons, swimming, and soccer, both in and out of school. We will be expected by our parent to do other activities like cleaning the house, doing dishes, going to church and other places. In order to be out of trouble, we will need to arrange things from important to not important.
I know for one that school work is important because it makes us learn new things. Cleaning the house is important too because it makes us live and breathe in a healthy environment. You still have to put these important things in order of what to do first. I would clean the house first so that whenever I do my homework or do my studying, I would be in a clean environment.
After doing the important things and finishing them, I know we can go to do the least important things like watching TV or playing games on your ipods, ipads and laptops.
I know it is not easy to do the right thing but remember that we can have fun after doing our homework as this help us get a good job when we grow up. Cleaning the house will help us keep our houses clean when we grow up.
My parents always tell me that people who act on TV get paid, but we people who watch them don’t get paid. In fact our parents have to pay for cable to watch TV. I am not saying we shouldn’t watch TV but we cannot put it as the first thing in our lives. I rather know less about TV shows, movies and its stars and know more about my school work.
