BREAKING NEWS! It has happened. Rob Ford has pulled out of the race for mayor of Toronto. Finally the city will be run by someone who can be trusted. Alas, it is not a happy day. Sure, many Torontonians have gotten their wish granted but can you really be happy when the person you wanted to go away might REALLY go away from this world?
If you do not already know, Rob Ford has been diagnosed with a tumour in his abdomen. We are yet to find out how serious the tumour is from the Mt. Sinai Hospital. There is a possibility of it being cancerous and, no matter how much people wanted Rob Ford to resign after the way he turned Toronto into a global laughing stock, I know nobody wanted him actually dead! I mean, I do not know anybody cruel enough to enjoy the fact that Rob Ford’s life is in danger. I know I am going to keep him in my prayers and I hope he makes a full recovery.
Rob Ford has been on camera for a whole lot of his political career. Known for for his controversial comments and passionate arguments at Council, he was almost always in the spot light, good or bad. Now that Rob Ford is in the news yet again for something much more personal, I think, after the biopsy is revealed, Rob Ford should be left alone.
This is a guy who has been chased by the news people north and south, east and west. Poor guy, almost everything he does would be breaking news.
Miami with DUI possessing marijuana, to Toronto with crack video scandal. Insulting a person seated behind him at the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game at the Air Canada Centre while visibly intoxicated and belligerent, to touching former mayoralty candidate Sarah Thomson inappropriately and making inappropriate comments when they were posing for a photo. Let alone the problems he had with his wife ….. ooh boy, I cannot imagine having a father like him for even for a minute of my life …..
Rob Ford has indeed been accused for many things related to drinking, drugs, and inappropriate actions. Yes, I know we all are not perfect like he says. According to the internet and other sources though, Ford really is not big on telling the truth. Maybe, just maybe, if he survives this tumour that he has been diagnosed with, he will have some sort of revelation and look at life a different way. Like most of the other times he has done something wrong, I hope he will decide to come clean and tell the world the whole truth about what really went down in the crack video.
Then, with the help of his family, doctors, and hopefully, the city of Toronto, Rob Ford can change for the better; start anew. Everyone deserves a second chance no matter how badly they mess up (in Ford’s case, it will be a what, ninth, tenth chance???… Eleventh? ….). And maybe another near death experience will bring him that. That’s right, I said ANOTHER! He had had some health issues before as I read about him such as a removal of a tumor from his appendix, to removal of kidney stones.
I hope you get better Ford both physically and mentally. I hope he forgives himself and asks for forgiveness from the rest of us. It has not been cool reading or listening about his scandals in the news EVERY. SINGLE DAY! Coming clean is the best way to start afresh and that can only happen if you let it happen. My mother always says “You can do something bad and ask for an apology, but … Just do not do it again!” Ford, I pray for you with all my heart that you will live by my mother’s words and if you do, who knows? You could maybe run for mayor again someday!
