Recently I wrote a paragraph in my class. It is about how my life is different from a pioneer child’s life. Pioneers were early settlers that settled in Canada during the 1800s. We have been learning about pioneers lately. I hope you enjoy my paragraph.
A pioneer child’s life is a lot different from my life. They had many ways of doing things. Their chores were way more difficult than the chores I do today. They had to learn them at a young age. My chores are easy because technology makes it easy. Back then, schools were only one room. The teachers were very strict. They called a boy teacher headmaster and a girl teacher headmistress. The schoolhouse had many different kids in different grades. Today, my school has an office, 2 floors, different classrooms, a gym and a library. The schoolhouse also had a stove or fireplace to heat up the room. It was usually at the back or middle of the room. A pioneer child’s home is very small. The fireplace was the most important room in the house. It was the only room in the house! Sometimes there were so many people that they had to stand when they were eating. Today we have a kitchen, a living room, a dining room a basement, closets, and 2 or 3 floors. These are 3 of the many reason why my life is different from a pioneer child’s life.
I hope you enjoyed this paragraph that I wrote in class. It is part of my report card mark in social studies. I got a level four.
