If you did not know, I went to India. I stayed there for a week during March break. It was me and my sister’s first time there and my moms second time there. My dad could not go because he had work.
I went to India because we wanted to see if my grandma was doing okay. She has cancer. she is getting treatment in India. The hospital that my grandma is going to is called Apollo hospital. She has had eight rounds of chemo. Chemo is when a doctor or nurse puts cancer medicine in the veins. She has four rounds of chemo left. She is doing fine but she is sometimes tired.
In India I went to the city of New Delhi. It is a very beautiful city. The driving though is bad. The motorcycles go in between the cars. Cars don’t stay in one spot either. That type of driving would be illegal in Canada.
While in New Delhi, we also walked to a nearby market called Nehru, it was on the streets close to our hotel. There were so many shops. I went to a lady that had beads with letters on them laid out on a piece of cloth. She made a key chain with my name on it. It looks so cool.
I also went to the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a white temple made out of marble. It is in a city called Agra. It is four hours away from our hotel in New Delhi. I slept the whole way there. There were so many people there. We had to walk a lot. In the Taj Mahal there are tombs of one of the rulers and his wife, who was the queen. It took 22 years to build the Taj Mahal.
It was a very fun experience. I hope I go there many more times. I really want my grandma to get better.
