In memory of Vanessa Yasintha Wambura (August 2003 – August 2023).
What a better way to kick off the summer, then a day of fun at the beach with your best friend? Earlier this summer, my best friend, Julia and I had shared many memories, chilling and having a blast at one of the longest fresh water beach in the world. With scorching hot temperatures and a very sunny sky, we couldn’t wait to splash around in the cool blue waters at Ontario’s Wasaga Beach.
Wasaga Beach is absolutely beautiful, 18 thousand kids, and parents of all ages splashing around, making sand castles and making memories is more than you could ever ask for on a hot day. I went with Julia’s family. After about an hour of drive North of Aurora, once the car was parked in a huge and jam-packed parking lot, Julia and I couldn’t resist the urge to jump into the water as soon as we got settled in at the beach. The water was magnificently fresh, nice and cool. There were people in the water as far as the eye could see. We played some fun games and some real cool water sports while the time flew right by us.
Wasaga Beach resides on the shore of Georgian Bay, in the town of Simcoe County, Ontario. There are also water parks, shops, mini golf, hiking trails, you name it. A very beautiful place indeed with many boats and residents, but mainly little cute shops and shacks. A Canadian Hawaii if you will. The area is amazing, it’s very green and sandy, and it has changing facilities and picnic tables. Wasaga Beach is about a 90 minutes’ drive away from Toronto, which I find very worth it as soon as you squish your toes in the warm white sand. I saw many families enjoying themselves in the water, making sand castles, having picnics, tanning and so much more! It was truly an amazing physical and visual experience. Did you know that Wasaga Beach is a Provincial Park?
After about an hour or so of water, Julia and I made a huge sandcastle then destroyed it by stomping on it! After we had a quick lunch we laid down, took some selfies, and just talked for a while before throwing a frisbee around in the shallow waters. Finally it was time to pack up, after one more last swim, we left. The whole experience at the beach for a full day was just incredible because I got to spend it with someone I deeply cared about and we could just be ourselves and make memories together. The weather and the atmosphere were simply breathtaking something I could ever ask for. I didn’t want the day to end and I can’t wait for next time!
I highly suggest you visit the Wasaga Beach. There’s so much to do and see, and the water is really fresh and safe due to the fact that halfway in it, it’s not that deep only up to your waist! It’s great to see so many different people having a day of fun and laughing together. I suggest you go with your family or friends, just because sharing a day together is so enlightening!
